Office Tour part 2

Missed part 1? Earlier this week I showed you my office, but I wanted to show you some of the details that make my space really functional.

I have a row of white magazine files that I use to keep books that would probably look messy if just left on the shelf.  Things like sheet music and spiral-bound course notes are much nicer tucked away into clean white files.

I keep all my textbooks in one place for easy reference.  (Sidenote – I have at least 3 text books dealing solely with digestive health.  Goes to show you how important it is, doesn’t it?)

I try to keep my desk free of too much clutter, and only keep out what I really need.  These boxes contain pens/pencils/sharpies, and everything else is tucked away in the drawers under my desk.  I keep that Queen backstage pass on my desk to remind of 2 things:

1. how awesome my dad is for giving me the opportunity to work backstage with the event staff at this concert

and

2. to remind me to keep reaching for my goals.

So there you have it!  My office.

Office Tour

Way back in August I showed you a few tidbits from my office reno.  (Cute for cheap lampshades!)I thought it was about time to show you the semi-finished results of the room I’ve been spending so much time in lately!  Of course, it’s gotten a bit messy, so I took some before-tidy and after-tidy pictures to show off my space.

View from the closet. I have a problem with flat surfaces, and the piling of things thereupon.

View of the closet – eeek! it’s much better with the curtains closed!

View from the captain’s seat.  I love that clock, and the IKEA bookcase holds all of my textbooks!  I have a whiteboard on the unpictured wall, where I outline homework and future practice ideas, and I really need a big corkboard beside my desk to hold a calendar, and other little things like that.  Maybe some nice art to set the mood?

So now you know what I’m talking about when I say I’ve been living in my office doing schoolwork.  It’s a calm and peaceful room (when it’s tidy) and I really enjoy working here.

Stay tuned later this week when I show you some details of my office that help me stay organized.

What is your favourite room in your home, and why?
