Every 2 years my In-laws host the Christmas dinner to end all Christmas dinners. (Except maybe Meghann’s? I think one of her Christmas dinners had 50+ people at it!!!) A feast is prepared for days in advance, and somewhere around 20 people gather together to take part in this event.
I didn’t get a chance to take pictures of the food, I was too busy passing it around the table! We had turkey, mashed potatoes, sprouts, carrots, mushrooms, and of course cranberry sauce and gravy. My mother-in-law always does a great job of finding new ways to prepare favourites, and this year was no exception. You know it’s a good meal when there are very little leftovers.
After dinner is over, we play a game that has come to be known as “Deb’s Cavalcade of Prizes!” Wherein my mother-in-law Deb hosts a gift-exchange game.
This year a fog machine was added for extra drama!
How it works is: There is one contestant and one presenter. The presenter is there to assist the contestant in choosing either one of the gifts under the mystery boxes, or a gift that has already been claimed by another contestant. It’s a lot of fun, and there are some really fun gifts every year.
Adam does the A/V for the event, including voiceovers, theme music and sound effects. He’s the Johnny Gilbert of the Cavalcade.

Mom and Dad W
Everyone has a really great time, and leaves with a fun prize! I got one of the snuggies, and Adam got a wireless indoor/outdoor thermometer.
Do you and your family play any fun games during the holidays? I’d love to hear about them!
