Actually they weren’t that spicy, but more on that later.
Last night I made meatballs for the first time. I used 1 pound of the ground beef that we got as part of our beef order.
This is a very basic recipe for meatballs:
1 lb ground meat (can use beef, chicken, turkey, or a combo)
1/2 onion, finely diced
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1 tsp of garlic (I used granulated because that’s all I had, if you use fresh, chop VERY finely)
salt & pepper
1 egg
2 tbsp water
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil and place a rack on top. Spray the rack with cooking spray.
Put everything together in a bowl, and mush together with your hands. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place on the rack.
Bake in the oven for 30 minutes, or until no longer pink in the middle.
These meatballs smell so great when they’re cooking. You can serve these with red sauce and pasta, or sweet and sour or teriyaki sauce with rice or quinoa. You can also add any herbs or spices that you like to amp up the flavour. This recipe makes about 25 meatballs, so it can be used for more than one meal. This is a dinner that you could easily for less than $10!!

We make our meatballs very similar except throw in like 1/2 tsp of cayenne. That makes for a spicy meatball! haha well not that spicy, but they do have a very subtle kick to them
