A hotel never really feels like home, no matter how much of “home” we bring with us. Currently I am on day 7/11 of a work project, and boy am I ready to go home. The worst part is that I am less than an hour away from home, but I need to be on call for 16-20 hours of the day, so I have to be in a hotel. I haven’t seen my husband for any real length of time during this trip, and miss him like crazy, even his snoring!
I am lucky to be staying in one of the nicest hotels in the city, and it’s really a shame that I haven’t been able to make use of more of the facilities. This hotel has a gorgeous spa, a nice-looking gym, and even in-room exercise equipment like yoga mats! I haven’t been eating regular meals, or much of anything and I think it has caused some weight loss, but not really the kind I wanted. I’m sure I have lost some muscle tone while sitting on my bum even more than usual, but I know I’ll be able to build that back up once I’m home again.
My room after the first night. You may see the Whole Foods bag on the desk. My hotel is right across the road one of the 2 Whole Foods in the whole province, and I have been availing myself of all the deliciousness that lies within. Does anyone else feel a little intimidated in Whole Foods? I feel like I should be buying something fancier than my salad or sandwich, since it’s such a high-end store, made even more intimidating by its location in one of the swankiest parts of town.
Yes, I bring my own pillow with me whenever I’m not sleeping in my own bed. I am a very picky sleeper.
Another highlight of my hotel is the gorgeous rooftop lounge. It’s teeny tiny, but has some of the best views in the city.
CN Tower and Toronto Skyline
View of the Royal Ontario Museum. I love the museum, we’re members, but I just can’t say how I feel about the addition they added a few years ago. It’s neat, but I love the beautiful old buildings too. Also, I’m considering starting a petition to bring back the planetarium. Toronto had THE coolest planetarium, and I always loved to go there on school trips, but it’s been closed for about 10 years.
For my grand finale, I leave you with a picture of the bunny that lives under our deck. We always see him early in the morning and at dusk, and he’s just so cute!
Take it easy peeps, and I’ll see you on the other side!
